Bio. Chris St. Lawrence is a American born, New York based photographer whose artwork balances a reverence for the beauty of environment and wary admiration for the raw power of Mother Nature. Raised on the edge of a former apple orchard in New York's historic Hudson Valley, his appreciation for exploration was ingrained at a very young age while traversing the abandoned orchards as well as the coastline of Long Beach Island, a barrier island off of New Jersey. Chris graduated from Villanova University's School of Liberal Arts with a degree in Sociology and recently from Marist College's Master of Public Administration Program. He is creative thinker, innovator and artist advocate. St. Lawrence has been a frequent contributor and business development advisor for Urban Studio Unbound ("USU"), a Yonkers based contemporary art gallery with origins in the Fashion Institute of Technology's Fine Art Department; a very talented and diverse team.
Artist Statement. The work of Jacques Cousteau, a personal inspiration since early childhood, cultivated a sense of reverence for discovery and for the role that all forms of life play in one collective ecosystem. This sense of discovery is not only fulfilling but through my lens, a perpetual reflection of my inner self.
